The Choir [da kua:ja]
If all those who ever came to the choir met in a single room, it would be enough people to form an opera choir. This is surely true for the number of people - and most probably not true considering the required artistic abilities of our members:) We are an amateur choir. Our youngest member is two years old (yet a very passionate drummer!), our eldest just over 60. And as there are three people serving for over 14 years in the choir, we hold the historical memory of the entire community.
Our favorite composers include Bach, Mendelssohn, Handel, Glen Miller, Hill Songs, as well as several contemporary artists. We usually sing with keyboard and guitar (sometimes a bass guitar), with the organ, or a capella. We tend to simplify the music we sing. The most complex song we ever sung was in five parts. We intended to have four but certain sopranos got kind of lost:)
You might think that one needs a lot of talent to join the choir - but the only two things you need are to (i) be in Bratislava, and (ii) to come either to the choir rehearsal on Friday evening or directly to the mass on Sunday. If you play an instrument, bring it with you (unless you play the organ, in which case we might let you play one of the two installed in the church:)
